As some of you may have guessed, the folks here on Power Cords spend a fair amount of time indoors, and “the walking dead” isn’t helping us get out of the house.
I have been watching this show since it aired Halloween of last year, and have spent some time reading the first few issues of the graphic novel.
This show and — the novels as well — is a perfect example of how a good zombie flick isn’t only about scary zombies running around, but about the people pitted against seemingly futile odds. The characters all have their own story to tell, from before and after the infection, which down the road gives the show the ability to jump back and forth between the stories of each charcter, and that only makes you grow closer to each person in the series.
The fact that the show and the graphic novel arn’t exactly the same is fantastic as well. It not only keeps new viewers of the show on their toes, but it also has fans of the graphic novel excited to see where the show takes their favorite rag-tag group of survivors.
AMC’s The Walking Dead shows on Sundays at 8:00 pm (pst) on amc (obviously) and I highly recommend you sink you teeth into this one.
